Yamhill County Blue Collar

How listings work

The short version: public state records in, no paid rankings, owners in control.

Where listings come from

Every listing starts from Oregon's public license records: the Construction Contractors Board's active license list and the Building Codes Division's contractor license list, both published as open data (public domain, per each dataset's metadata). Registered business names (“doing business as” names) come from the Oregon Secretary of State's active business registry, matched to a license only when the name on the registration exactly matches the license holder (for a person, also in the same town). We include every business with an active CCB license that lists Yamhill County (except any removed at the owner's request) — 1,042 as of Nov 2, 2026. Nobody paid to be included, and nobody was left out for not paying.

What the count means

One listing per active CCB license number whose state record lists Yamhill County — 1,042 on Nov 2, 2026. Most are contractor businesses; 16 are individual certified home inspectors. A business with several license types (say, residential and commercial) is one listing. The town on a listing is the city on the license holder's state record — where the business is based, not every town it works in. Where a business's own website or its owner tells us the towns it serves, the listing says so separately.

What we show, and what we don't

  • We show the business name, town, trade, license number and type, the license's expiry, and — where the CCB lists them — the bond and insurance amounts it had on file the day we checked — with a link to the state's own record.
  • We don't show street addresses (some are homes), the names of the responsible people on a license (unless the license itself is in a person's name), ratings, reviews or scores.
  • For licenses held under a person's own name with no registered business name, we don't show the phone number (it may be a personal phone). The owner can ask us to add it.
  • The state record doesn't name a trade, so we work it out from the license type, the business names and any Building Codes Division license — and every listing says which. Owners can correct it.

What a listing means

A listing means the business held an active Oregon CCB license (or certification) on the date shown. It is not a recommendation, a rating or a guarantee — and the CCB itself says licensing is not a guarantee of a contractor's work. Check the record, read how to check a license, and get more than one bid.

How listings are sorted

Alphabetically, A to Z, on every page — the same rule for every business. There are no paid placements or rankings.

How this is paid for

This directory is run by Colby Nelsen of Root Labs LLC, a small web and marketing business in Newberg, Oregon. It's free to use and free to be listed. Root Labs builds websites and marketing for local businesses, and may contact listed businesses about those services — but a listing never depends on it, and Root Labs' own clients follow the same rules as everyone else. If we ever offer paid placement, it will be clearly marked “Ad · Paid placement” and kept apart from the regular list, and any Root Labs client shown in a featured spot will be marked as one.

Keeping it current

We pull the state data automatically every morning. If a pull looks wrong, nothing changes on the site until a person checks it; the date on each listing shows the last successful check. Each refresh adds newly licensed businesses, updates expiry, bond and insurance details, and drops licenses that are no longer active. Corrections are made within 5 business days and removals within 2 — see the corrections policy.
